Why agents are worth 15%

The Pikes Peak list serve alerted me to this most excellent post by a "recovering editorial assistant." "It's called Why you should never submit unagented to publishing companies, and it lays out the reasons very clearly. While I would not take it as an absolute rule, I think she makes an excellent case for always trying your level best to get the agent first.

I'm scared enough as it is to look for an agent (not that I'm ready or anything), but to send out submissions on my own? After reading that link, I don't think I'll even try.

BTW, did you read the article about TPA? That was informative as well. Good site.

Lol, sorry.

TPA - The Perfect Author.

The whole article was very insiteful on how to keep a good relationship going with your agent. A lot of it I found, was common sense, but I guess there are some Diva writers out there.
