Where's OUR bailout?

Wow! Yesterday's GalleyCat included several posts on the bad news in the biz.

The blog The Daily Beast has become a lifeline for out of work writers who are flocking to it for freelance work.

The layoffs and reorganizations at Simon and Schuster have resulted in dozens of folks being shown the door.

Two posts related the shake-up at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, the second covering the specific
firing of an editor.

The Random House re-org suggested they have turned the company into a jig-saw puzzle.

Almost the only good news— a deal between iPhone e-reader software Stanza and Fictionwise.
