More than beauty . . .

A famous aphorism is that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. But behind the eye, the human brain is an amazing thing. A Washington Post photographer created a photo montage of Obama taking the oath of office. The montage is slightly spotty but clearly recognizable, from Michelle Obama's beautiful dress and coat (a little off in color, it's true) to Obama's red tie, to the bald spot on the back of Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts' head. But this "picture" is actually made up of many, many pictures from inauguration day. If you click on John Roberts' bald spot and then zoom in with the thumb wheel of your mouse, you will see, among other shots, a view of the US Capitol on top of Roberts' head.

If we could only do that with words. Obama's speech could become, literally, a new view of the world.
