Multi-use vs. really good at one thing

I love my Kindle, and I would not trade it for an iPhone, but I must admit, one thing I wish my Kindle could do is let me work crossword puzzles. That, of course, is the advantage of a multi-use device: it is adaptable. But I recently saw a book displayed on scottedelman's new iPhone and I like my Kindle better for reading books. The iPhone screen is too damn tiny!

Anyway, turns out someone had made a crossword puzzle app for the iPhone. I wonder if scottedelman has tried it?

Addendum, 2011: If anyone stumbles over this, there are now NYT crossword books available on the Kindle.
