Countdown to Worldcon

Worldcon starts in a little over three weeks. The name of this year's Worldcon is "Anticipation," and I am looking forward to it for several reasons. First, I have never been in Montreal, and people tell me it is a beautiful city. Second, Neil Gaiman is one of my all-time favorite writers, and he is the GoH. And third, this will be my first time participating in programming. Having submitted a suggestion about how good it would be to have a panel on ebooks, I am now part of the program! Here are my two panels (both in English):

Title: Ebooks from the Reader’s and Writer’s Perspective
Description: Are ebooks the future of publishing or just a niche market on the way to print? Can a writer have a career in ebooks?
Location: P-522B
When: Thu 2:00 PM - 3:30 pm
Participants: Cecilia Tan (m), Karen Wester Newton, Stephanie Bedwell-Grime, Traci N. Castleberry

Title: Faking Paper: ebooks
Description: Are eBooks the future of reading? Is paper dead? What are the problems and pitfalls of the Kindle? What does it feel like to read on electronic "paper"? Is the market ready?
Location: P-516D
When: Fri 7:00 PM - 8:00 pm
Participants: Alon Ziv, James Bryant (G4CLF), Karen Wester Newton (m), Kathryn Sullivan, Katherine (Katya) Pendill, Justin Renard

The first panel is on the creative writing track and the second is on the science & technology track.

And my last reason is, I need a vacation!

Have a wonderful time in Montreal!

I'd love to hear your panels, particularly the first one. I don't say much on this subject, because I don't know much about it yet, but I'm interested and I always pay attention to what you have to say.
