Toolbox

The web offers new tools for the writer's toolbox!

The PPW list serv had a mention of a (fairly new) blog called Edittorrent. Two editors, Alicia Rasley and Theresa (no last name given that I could find) give advice on writing and on submitting work to editors. Some of their recent comments on critique groups point out the obvious. Never argue with editors by saying "My critique group loved that part." Unless your critique group includes their publisher, they're not going to care, and it makes you look unprofessional. While their advice doesn't quite have Ms. Snark's level of sassiness, on the other hand, these editors using at least part of their names (Alicia is hawking a book on the site; hard to do that anonymously) so I guess they have to rein in their inner snark.

The "edit" part is obvious, but I'm not sure I get the "torrent." Unless maybe they plan on blogging nonstop? Or maybe they mean how much editing their slush pile would take?
