To heck with industrial robots, or dancing robots or any other kind of robots! What we need is something that will take care of all those chores around the house that no one want to do.  As a first start, a Spanish furniture company called OHEA has created a "smart bed," a bed that can make itself. If the embed code (pun!) works, here's the video from the article.

It looks like the bed is in the video has no top sheet, not unusual in Europe, and that is requires special duvet covers to work as shown. Not as good as an actual all-purpose household robot, but it's a start!

Yes, someday housework will be a thing of the past. For now, I'd settle on a dishwasher that actually gets the dishes clean. I have to do them halfway by hand before loading the damned thing. ;-)

I used to feel that way! I do find that since I got a Bosch I am happier with it than any dishwasher I ever had before. You do still need to scrape the food off, though. It's not a garbage disposal. It's very quiet, too, which is nice.

But I still want the robot to load and unload the dishwasher!

That is pretty cool. I will say, however, that a few years ago I heard a news clip on the radio that claimed that persons who did NOT make their bed everyday actually had less bacteria build up int their mattress and sheets because the bed was allowed to air out. I used this information to get my mom to stop my mom's comments.

Interesting about the bacteria. I had also heard that about clean-looking kitchens having more bacteria than untidy ones. Apparently, nothing spreads germs better than the kitchen sponge so many folks use to wipe the counter tops.

OH! I don't use a sponge. YUCK! I'm all about paper towels or Clorox wipes.
