More reliable than a robin in spring

Fall must be on its way. The folks at Pikes Peak Writers have announced that the annual Paul Gillette Memorial Writing Contest will open on September 1 and close on November 1.

Check the web site and get your entries ready! You can enter a novel or a short story. Even if you don't win, you can get good feedback from the optional critiques. And I found that being forced to enter only the first 15 pages of a novel really helped me learn to get that hook in there fast! And of course, to enter a novel, you have to write the all-important synopsis.
