Back in the USA

I made it back from London. I had a great time. I'm glad I went, and I'm glad I'm back. I saw some neat things, and met some nice people but traveling can be wearing—especially transatlantic flights.

Some London moments. . .

Being called "Luv" by a London cabbie.

Walking through Westminster Abbey and looking down to see I was standing on the grave of Edward Bulwer-Lytton ("It was a dark and stormy night...")

Booking a single room at the Thistle-Victoria and walking into it to realize that "single" means a twin bed in an overgrown closet built as a maid's room

Hearing an older lady (older than me, anyway) in the gift shop at the Houses of Parliament (excuse me, the Palace of Westminster!) say that she wants a pencil with a rubber

Buying something and getting back change that includes tuppence (they still make a coin for that!)

Having bangers and mash in a pub (not nearly as exciting as it sounds if you don't know bangers are sausages)

Riding on the top of a double decker bus

In short, it was totally cool!
