Amazon 100

The Amazon.com Breakthrough Novel Award is down to 100 semifinalists! I must say, though, that they seem to have dissed speculative fiction. There are only five novels listed under science fiction and fantasy. That's a pretty dismal showing considering we were 17 percent of the total entries, which, as I calculate was approximately 150 speculative fiction novels. Mystery and suspense had 26 entries out of the top 100, which is eerie because they were 25 percent of the entries, too (even I can do the math on that one).

Of course, with romance, they had 7 percent of the total, or about 60+ entries, and I don't even see a category for Romance in the top 100.
