E-reader or I-strain?

GalleyCat reports that Apple is pushing the iPhone as an e-reader. While I can see the beauty of one device does it all—and it's great not to have to carry something extra—it seems to me the iPhone screen is just too damn small to hold a useful amount of text. Plus, it doesn't have e-ink.

It sounds like they were smart in that they're offering free downloads of out-of-copyright books, but the last thing I want to do is try to make a call after reading Pride and Prejudice, and discover I've run my phone battery down.
